4. Structure of the entrance examination

A. Vocational Training Area Graphic Design
The first and second admission exercises for courses in the Graphic Design area are common to all courses, so that candidates can be submitted to several tests and perform these exercises only once. The third exercise is particular to each of the courses.

Three exercises must be performed:

1. First exercise: Development in writing, for a maximum time of one hour, of questions formulated on History of Art, from a written text and / or graphic documentation provided. In this exercise, the level of knowledge and sensitivity to artistic, communicative and functional creations will be assessed.

2. Second exercise. Realizing for a maximum of two hours, an artistic drawing from a natural model. In this exercise sensitivity and artistic perception of the applicant, their compositional ability, representation and mimesis will be assessed.

3. Third exercise. Execution, for a maximum of three hours on a content related exercise to the course chosen:

3.1. Photography. From a proposed topic, perform a given composition with elements [images, textures, typography, etc.]. Prior of which will be made sketches and will choose one for further development. Artistic, compositional and communication skills are valued.

3.2. Illustration. From a text provided, colour graphical composition will be performed. Free technique. From previous drafts one will be chosen for further development. Artistic, compositional and communication skills are valued.

3.3. Graphic Print. From a proposed topic, perform a given composition with elements [text, images, etc.] with a communicative purpose. From previous drafts one will be chosen for further development. Artistic, compositional and communication skills are valued.

3. 4. Engraving and Printmaking. Execution of several graphic adaptations from an image provided, with different techniques [line, stain, wash, texture, etc.]. In this exercise the skills and artistic possibilities in front of the graphic work is valued.

Each exercise will be assessed from 0 to 10 points; passing will be with a grade equal or superior to 5. The final score of the test will be the arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in each of the three exercises.

B. Vocational Training Area Interior Design

Test common to all courses in the Interior Design area.

1. First exercise. Development in writing for an hour of questions formulated on Art History, from a written text and / or graphic documentation provided. In this exercise, the level of knowledge and sensitivity to artistic and functional creations will be assessed.

2. Second exercise. Based on geometric shapes, perform composition of a given space, with the system of representation stated, for three hours. In this exercise, capacities assessed are spatial concept, skill and technical ability of representation and the compositional artistry.

3. Third exercise. On a given theme realization of several sketches during three hours, and development with perspective of one of them, chosen by the examining board, in a colour drawing. In this exercise, the artistic sensibility and creativity, compositional and communication skills and sense of functionality would be considered.

Each exercise will be assessed from 0 to 10 points; passing will be with a grade equal or superior to 5. The final score of the test will be the arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in each of the three exercises.

C. Vocational Training Area Fashion Design

1. Clothing Model-Making and Fashion Styling

The admission exam is divided into the following exercises:

1. First exercise: Development in writing, for a maximum time of one hour, questions formulated on Art History, from a written text and / or graphic or audiovisual documentation provided. In this exercise, the level of knowledge and sensitivity to artistic and functional creations will be assessed.

2. Second exercise. Realizing for a maximum of three hours, an artistic drawing from a natural model. In this exercise sensitivity and artistic perception, compositional, representation and mimesis ability are assessed.

D. Vocational Training Area Industrial Design

The three exercises are common to the three training cycles: Model Making, Industrial Model Building, and Furniture Design.

The admission exam is structured as follows:

1. First exercise. Development in writing, for a maximum time of one hour, questions formulated on Art History, from a written text and / or graphic or audiovisual documentation provided. 3. Third exercise. Realizing for a maximum of three hours, several sketches, dimension and perspective drawings of a given object. In this exercise descriptive representation and technical capacity will be assessed.
